Dr. Albrecht Conze, Senior Advisor
In the course of over thirty years of service for Germany, the European Union and the United Nations, Albrecht Conze has gained a wealth of international experience. He has spent most of this century in Africa and has acquired deep knowledge of development issues and the parameters of success and failure.
While, on the political side, his focus has been on stabilization, peace keeping and peace building, he is now, both as a lawyer with Dentons Europe LLP, and as Senior Advisor with E&P Focus Africa Consulting, assisting German and international companies with their investments in Africa, and advising African governments on infrastructure projects.
Dr. Michael Rabbow, Senior Advisor
Michael Rabbow is appointed doctor in General Medicine and holds a MSc degree in Community Health.
He has 30 years of working experience in the field of International Health with geographical focus on Africa and Asia. Until his retirement in April 2016 he was Team Leader with Corporate Public Affairs at the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, Germany. His responsibilities included access policy development, liaison with international, bilateral and national government institutions and development organisations.
Previous positions include Head of Dept. of Health Care at a German consulting agency and as Senior Researcher at the Dept. of Tropical Hygiene and Public Health at Heidelberg University. From 1991 to 1998 he was Chief Medical Officer at the Directorate of PHC and Nursing Services, Ministry of Health and Social Services in Windhoek, Namibia.
Michael Rabbow is the chairperson of the GIZ Private Sector Advisory Board and advisory board member of German Healthcare Partnership (GHP). He joined E&P Focus Africa Consulting as per 1st May 2016 as Senior Advisor on health topics in Africa.
Bunga Kiala, Senior Consultant
Bunga Kiala is a state certified electrical engineer, who has 20 years of experience working in the field of energy markets in Germany and Africa. From 1997 until 2007, he was project manager for the power utility company of the city of Karlsruhe, where he was responsible for low-, medium- and high-voltage network projects.
In 2007, he joined SebaKMT, a world market leader in measuring equipment and systems, as Sales Director for Africa. His responsibility included building the sales network across the continent and collaborating with water and power utilities in order to improve supply reliability. From 2014 until 2016, Bunga Kiala was representing Schneider Electric in Angola as Country president, establishing and managing the local subsidiary.
In 2016 he founded AFORI (SU) LDA in Angola, a company which executes energy projects with international partners, and became a freelance consultant for E&P Focus Africa Consulting GmbH.
Alan Mc Auley, Senior Consultant
40 years of professional experience with hands on business development at all levels. Working and living in Africa and Asia for more than 35 years with specific geographical focus on Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi, Botswana and Namibia. Holding senior management positions with Trans National Groups in the field of Foreign trade, Project development, Crisis management and Logistics.
Alan McAuley holds a MBA in Foreign Trade and is a graduate of Oxford University’s Advanced Management program.
Dr. Simón-Nadin Wenzel, Business Analyst
Simón-Nadin Wenzel has a doctorate in economic geography. Her research on South Africa and the other countries of the BRICS Alliance focused on various internationally active private companies in South Africa in the mining and supply industries as well as the logistics sector.
She has five years of experience in the analysis of strategic alliances for market entry, market development and differentiation against price competition in Southern Africa as well as in China, Brazil and India.
Simón-Nadin Wenzel is a graduate of the University of Merseburg (Business Administration) and holds a Master in African Development Studies from the University of Bayreuth. She has worked for the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft e.V., among
others. From 1995 to 2012 she worked as a consultant for the currently largest German motor insurer.
